BladeZero 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Since Microsoft is not going to update Windows XP after Service Pack 3 I think it's a big security risk for us Geovision GV-800 Version 3.01 card owners or all owners that are only able to run 6.05 or a version of Geovision that can run under Windows Vista. I think if Geovision released drivers for us 6.05 owners that really can't afford to upgrade to another card that would really save us from big security exploits in the future since Windows Vista is better for security for people who are trying to create a secure environment. The Card Swap costs money and it really shouldn't come to that point to shut out card owners that can't really upgrade to a card that can run Version 8.
rory 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Hi. actually there is really no need to do any of the MS updates for the DVR, other than SP2 on XP. There are many other things however that need to be done to lock down the PC. Personally I will use XP until its gone completely, when the time arises when all that is left is Vista, I think many of the XP DVR users will be switching to something else, like Linux. Vista just has way too many other issues.
