If you are like me, anything that can catch a wire and stop a pull will occur. Example: when pulling Siamese through an attic to an eve exit area, the cable will catch in the "V" where the rafter meets the joist. I drive a large smoothe nail vertically in the affected joist a few feet out from the intersection point into the said rafter. Then run the Siamese on the far side of the nail shank which guides the cable away from the intersect point, and allows a clean pull to the exit hole (situation will vary).

I hate cat 5 in the box if it does not have the reel! I seem to catch every "knot" in the cat 5. As long as I do not have new tech who would rather give it the yank, instead of uncurling the loop, then I am good to go.

Use telco drive rings makes the job look nice and keeps the wire out of the way of others in the attic.

Use telco drive rings makes the job look nice and keeps the wire out of the way of others in the attic.

 

Depending one the job, sometimes putting the rings in it will take you almost double the time that traditional "pulls".

 

Expecially if it's one of those customers that pay next to nothing.
