Need playback software using Swann PC-DVR-4-NET

Recommended Posts

I am using the Swann PC-DVR card & am happy with it for my needs (for now). On one of my systems, I write my video data on a USB 2.0 hard drive so I can bring it home to view. The problem is, the Swann software will not run unless it detects a DVR card. I don't have or need a DVR card on the computer I am trying to review the video data, so I can not use their playback software.

I am looking for a simple multi camera playback software that will allow me to watch all the camera data at the same time (mulit-screeen, zoom, playback speed, bla bla bla). The data is stored in unique directories for each camera (CAM1, CAM2,etc)

I can use Windows media player to view one camera at a time, but that is no good!

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have you tried copying the player to the USB HD and playing the files as Original or Backup? I’ve never tried what you want to do. However, I do know that you have to copy the player to any disk you want to play the DVR files from. Anyway, I’m inclined to think that trying to play the file using the backup option on the player might work for you.

The first thing the "player" does (the DRV software is what I think you are saying) is look for the DVR card, if the DVR card is not present, the software will not start.

So basically you want to review multiple cameras at one time (playback recorded files) but their software does not support that feature? If so, it would require changing the card for one that has software with that feature, typically playback software is limited to what you get from the manufacturer.

Their software does playback the recorded files, but the software will only run on a computer that has their DVR card installed. I just wanted to bring the protable hard drive hove & watch it on my laptop (which does not have a PCI DVR card installed).

Have you thought about simply running the remote playback via web option the Swann DVR Pci etc offers ?

Not that I can get it working but plenty seem to have !!
