Sir Flannel 0 Posted January 17, 2008 I have a client who has a GV-650 system. The 4 portcard is in a dell computer, and I gather all is working well. He has 4 cameras already, and would like to add more. Will the software support another card as is, or would I need to upgrade the software? Any help is greatly appreciated. rory 0 Posted January 17, 2008 You would need to change the card to one with more ports as GeoVision does not support multiple cards (except the GV2008)
Sir Flannel 0 Posted January 17, 2008 So, just take the four port card out and get a more-than-four port card? The software will recognize it and be ok?
securitysys 0 Posted January 17, 2008 You're going to have to reinstall the drivers, but what I would do is uninstall everything, put in the card, then reinstall everything off the cd that comes with the new card, muchase easier. It may work, it may not. Some of the 4 channel cards work on the dell computers, but once you get into the 8 and 16 channels for some reason sometimes they don't work, even if the dell has a intel chipset (chipset that's on the motherboard, not the CPU). It's kind of like throwing dice .
rory 0 Posted January 17, 2008 First uninstall the Geovision Software. (you can optionally remove the drivers now) Power down the PC and replace the card. Run the driver installation program again, it auto uninstalls first. Check the proper drivers are installed, then reinstall the Geovision Software.
