highspeedphysics 0 Posted February 1, 2008 I am in the process of buying a Geovision DVR card kit. I will have up to 5 PTZ cameras I would like to control thru Geovision. I'm going to start with a GV800 and exchange to a 1480 from worldeyecam once I make sure the PTZs are up and my investment is worthwhile. I am thinking I want to start with a budget geovision system and go with What other hardware do I need to connect the 5 PTZs with Geovision? If using a GV-net card or box, how do I terminate all 5 RS-485 cables? I'm new at this. Thanks for the advice in advance. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
501 0 Posted February 2, 2008 All of the cameras will tie into the same GVnet card and each camera will be given it's own ID address (Controled by software in the camera or dip switches). You can also "Daisy Chain" the RS485 from one cam to the next. I think you will probably be quite happy with the 800 card, it's a good product. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ezCCTV 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Just to add my 2 pence worth (or cents!) All cameras must be running the same protocol (e.g. Pelco D @ 2400bps) if they are to share the same RS-485 output.
