Help with a Bosch/Phillips LTC2682/90 and IntuiKey Keyboard.

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm very new to the CCTV world and security monitoring systems. I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong area.

I had of my LTC2682/90 multiplexers go out and it was sent in for repair. Once I got everything hooked back up and working on our system4 server they noticed that the camera keyboard control was not seeing that multiplexer anymore they reset it and still nothing and then called me. I read the instructions and then went in and changed the mux from 1 to 2 as it was suppose to be 2 because we have 4 of them hooked up. Once I did that they rest the keyboard and did a product scan and it can't find anything now. Here is what I'm working with:

4 LTC 2682/90 multiplexers with a keyboard port expander with 2 keyboards.

All of them are labeled on the mux 1-4 with the expander plugged into mux 1 keyboard IN port and I made sure that the cascading was correct from that point down to number 4 with the terminator in MUX 4 keyboard OUT. I have go so far as o plug the keyboard straight up to the multiplexers to take out any wiring issues but I'm sure there is something simplex that I'm missing and doing wrong. Both keyboards that I motioned above are doing the same thing. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Travis

Does no one use these muxes anymore? I was searching for cascading issues with this mux, and saw no one ever answered this.

I'm wondering if the cascading ribbon cables are wired straight or crossover when going out to in through all connected muxes. I have 6 to control through a kbd digital.

Sorry- I never read these things.

Your LTC 2682/90 will work if you cascade the RJ12 oddly. If it doesn't work normally, which is IN to OUT, then cascade one at a time by going IN to IN. Then use OUT to IN on the next one.

By testing your controller with one mux, then two, etc., you can find the order that works. Sometimes I'll cascade 3 of 5 muxes normally, but one in the middle will have to use this odd setup. Yes, I think a crossover cable in the right place would do the same function.
