acableconnection 0 Posted February 4, 2008 I just installed 4 cameras at a restaurant. The DVR is under the cash register, in an island. There is two conduits there, but I cannot get the string to move in one, and the phone line, that is running the router, wont budge either. Im thinking there is a junction box that got covered up somewhere, by the paneling. I cannot move the router, as he needs a net connection for the register, and phone line for credit card machine. He has 1 pair running the router, and 1 pair to a phone device. Can i install a wireless antenna into my 1304? Would quality suck?

scorpion 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Can you paint a better picture for me??? If I read this correctly there is a cash register in an Island. The DVR is under the cash register that is in the island. There is a modem (ATT/Bell South??) that is set up for the register to have internet access?? If the above is correct then can you put a router on the modem, and then connect the DVR to the internet? Correct me if I got it wrong. Thanks.
acableconnection 0 Posted February 5, 2008 oops, no. the router is under the register, and its running on 1 pair! of cat 5. (dsl?) out of the router, he has credit card machine or register. He does have two pair available... dont most net connections use two pair? pins 1,2,3,6. I dont really want to hack this up though. The dvr is in the office. I need to get someone to help me feed a wire through one of the two conduits, to see if there if I cant pull this myself, or if there really is a jucntion box that got covered up. I could not pull the existing cable that is in there.. pretty scary
