parman 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Does anyone know if those terabyte external drives that use USB to connect will work with the Geovision for storage. Will USB be fast enough to keep up with the amount of info that is going to be sent (12 cameras)?
rory 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Once the PC Recognizes it, then you can add it to Geo. It will be slower than an IDE or Sata internal drive. Ive heard of others using external USB drives though, so they must work okay.

synci 0 Posted March 26, 2008 We tried it with 3.5 External 1TB Seagate HDD. Works very nice. Greetings
kao 0 Posted March 26, 2008 I've used a Western Digital exteran USB drive and it worked fine. However one thing to keep in mind is to use a drive that has a rocker style power switch. The WD drive we used has a "soft touch" power button that does not have a solid On/Off state. If power blipped, the drive would shut off and would not come back up until someone manually turned it back on. With a rocker type switch, the drive will power back up when power is restored.
