GE DVMRe ct-16 Video Burner

Recommended Posts

I have a GE DVMRe CT-16 with no burner. I read that the manual says I can use a SCSI drive to transfer the video to.

Has anyone done this before? What type of burner would you suggest to do this?

We recently had a incident that I need to burn video and move for future use and any help would be appreciated.

Hi. never backed up using that myself, but you may want to look at other alternatives as well, such as monitor out from the DVR direct into a VCR, DVD Recorder, or even a Capture Card on a laptop (USB) or Internal on a Desktop. That way you then just playback what you want and click record on those devices, and it is the highest quality backup that you would get from the GE DVRs.

Dependent when you purchased this model and if it did not come with CD or DVD burner, then you can add it..

Here is what you do: first you need to contact GE technical support (or better yet, if you already have online account with them, even better) and get the firmware upgrade available for your model... The earlier versions did not come with burners, however newer version do...

After you get done with the firmware upgrade, then you should be able to add CD burner or even DVD burner...

We have done few of these type of conversions not only for this model, but also on older machines... and works fine... The trick is to get the latest firmware that supports CD or DVD burner...

We did not even ask which make and model that GE supports... We used Sony's offered models and they all worked then, and chances are that they will again too...

Let me know if you need any additional info.
