Why can I see camera webpage IE but not Chrome?

Hikvision camera and have set-up several other cameras on home network...

But on my last camera (# - I can only access the camera via IE but not chrome? Standard IP address, verified the ports are opened, etc...

More of a nuisance since I use Chrome and I don't access the camera web interface very often.

I just installed "IE Tab" for Chrome and have my camera's IP set to auto-open in IE Tab.

To override this in Chrome (for now), enter:

chrome://flags/#enable-npapi

in Chrome's address bar. Click Enable on the 'enable-npapi' feature when the list comes up. Restart Chrome. Voila.

Good until September 2015 when they'll remove NPAPI plugin support permanently.

Wonder if Hikvision and others are working on an updated technology for their plugins?

But it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

I enabled the NPAPI in Chrome and restarted but still get "ERR_UNSAFE_PORT".

Did I miss something?

Mmmmh same happened here with all my Hikvision devices.

I tried the "chrome://flags/#enable-npapi" thing, but it didn't do it for me, I had to go with "IE tab".

As of Sept 1st Chrome no longer allows you to enable NPAPI. The the following bulletin from Hikvision addresses the NPAPI problem on Chrome. http://t.co/yddpR3uJOD

It looks like they are planning a software upgrade towards the end of November. In the mean time Internet Explorer works fine.
