normicgander 0 Posted March 2, 2006 Hello follow members, Has anyone had experience with the Nuvico NVJV-4000 DVR? Any other options for a similar DVR in a class? Thanks , normicgander
loop 0 Posted March 2, 2006 Very good system. Easy to configure, stable and well designed. Drawbacks are: - Motion detection based recording can only be set to record all active channels, even though motion occur on one channel only. - Slow network transmission (MJPEG Compression). - Noisy fan (a problem of many embedded dvr's). normicgander 0 Posted March 6, 2006 Hello Loop, Thanks for your feedback on the Nuvico DVR. The motion detection triggering all active channel recording could be a concern...
JMANOFNVS 0 Posted March 7, 2006 Looks good for the price. Personally I haven't sold one yet we just started with Nuvico around 3-4 months ago. In the same arena there is DM's Eco 4(more money) ARM has like 2 or 3in that area, ICreal's Flex 4, Everfocus EDR410, Speco's DVR X4IP(haven't sold it either), Weldex WDR4000(same as later), KTL DVR4104, 4002N, 4003N. What is your application though? What features is the client(might be you) looking for??
normicgander 0 Posted March 9, 2006 As far as features go: Image quality is most important (ability to record 720 x 480 "high res" camera); Motion detection to conserve disk space and archive an event trigger; Alarm inputs; remote viewing- initialing on the LAN or direct via crossover cable; 4 camera (Analog) inputs. It's just hard to sell GEs/Sanyos/DMs etc to some small businesses. I've installed a few EDSR400 Everfocus units- not bad, but software is cheesey (as Rory would say I don't like it).
