Camera Purchase

Ok, I read alot of posts on here, but haven't been able to come to a consensus or a decision. I live in the country in a ranch style house, have mostly moonlight & starlight for lighting. I have a motion detecting flood lights (they are about 60ft away from where I will mount my 1 camera in the front of the house). The cameras will be about 12-17 feet above the ground mounted on the roof over hang. The camera in the back will only have lighting from my light on the garage which is about 100ft away. I do get alot of bright moonlighted nights. Which will be best a bullet style camera with IrLED's and Super HAD or could I use some kind of Box Style camera. From reading all the posts I have picked some "must have" specs for a camera. Also would I be better off buying black & white cameras or could I go with a color B/W camera.

buy color with a cut filter. climate? If "extreme, consider using camera enclosures over domes.

be careful of the "blurr" that happens on most low light cameras. Most Low Light cameras with digital noise reduction or digital low light improvement "stuff" have a tendancy to blurr moving objects. Still pics are GREAT, but, was that Superman running by?

I like to use armor domes with low light Day/Night Dip Switches over On Screen Digital "stuff" due to the "blurr" effects reproduced. The Dip Switch "stuff" maybe old school and slightly grainy under low light no light, but they don't blurr...........agument them with decent motion lighting and you'll get a decent pic.

Now, if you have the cash, buy the Arecont 3130, put it in an enclosure, run it via POE, and you'll blow away any analog camera around. And the 3130 has decent low/light digital capabilities that has no blurr effecting them when setup right.

your recording is also a "must have" in terms of quality. Don't try to save money here because you'll end up with a great camera and crappy video. Avermedia is pretty decent..........
